Former elf. Now pirate. Definitely not a princess.
Ilvie sails the world with her extraordinary crew, chasing adventures, challenging old ideas and doing things her own way.
CURIOUS. COURAGEOUS. AND AN ELF. AN EX-ELF, TO BE EXACT.
Just flying around in the land of the elves being happy all the time?
Way too boring!!!
Ilvie wants adventures. Ilvie wants to try new things, meet new people and find out what the world outside is really like. So she decides to leave Elfland behind — wings, magical powers and all.
Coming with her is Theo, her rather unusual little monkey friend. Theo hates climbing, thinks bananas are horrible and loves strawberry cupcakes. What does he hate even more? Adventures. Phew! How scary! How exhausting!
Unfortunately for Theo, Ilvie LOVES them.
And that’s how the two end up in the human world, aboard the pirate ship Anastasia — and at the beginning of one very big adventure.
Pirates instead of princesses? Absolutely.
Ilvie Little — live on stage. Stories are made to be lived.
Discover Ilvie Little books and stories — and keep the adventure going.
Discover Ilvie’s books, Superpower Fashion and everything you need to join the fearless crew.
Ilvie’s adventures wouldn’t be the same without her fearless, funny and wonderfully different crew.
Theo hates climbing. He hates bananas. And he loves strawberry cupcakes. But most of all, he hates adventures. Phew! Far too dangerous!
Unfortunately, adventures are pretty hard to avoid when your best friend is Ilvie Little.
Captain of the Anastasia, brilliant sailor and great-granddaughter of the legendary pirate Grace.
She knows the seas, keeps her crew on course — and is always ready for the next adventure.
Smart, brave and brilliant with maps. Amelie once thought she was a scaredy-cat — until she discovered just how courageous she really is.
Now she helps the crew find their way, wherever the adventure takes them.
Wherever the Anastasia lands, Carlos discovers new ingredients and turns them into something delicious. According to Theo, he’s the best ship’s cook in the world.
Sammy may be small, but he has very strong opinions. He loves a good argument with Theo — and Theo is always happy to argue right back. Luckily, they’re rather fond of each other.
Ilvie Little used to live in the land of the elves. It was beautiful, peaceful — and far too small for someone who wanted to know what was waiting beyond the big elf gate.
So one day, Ilvie left.
Together with Theo — her best friend and possibly the world’s most reluctant adventurer — she sets out to discover the world outside.
Ilvie and Theo have a special secret language. They can talk without saying a word. Theo thinks a sentence — and Ilvie hears him. Humans call it telepathy. Ilvie and Theo think that sounds terribly boring. So they call it Twinkling.
It comes in very handy when you’re sneaking past pirates, escaping danger — or simply have something to say that nobody else should hear.
And by the way: all animals can twinkle. Humans just haven’t figured it out yet.
Then they meet Leonie, brilliant young captain of the Anastasia and great-granddaughter of the legendary pirate Grace. Grace has left behind a mystery: a lost treasure somewhere out there in the world.
Soon Amelie, Carlos and Sammy join the crew, and the Anastasia sets sail.
There are mysterious islands, storms, pirates, new friends and plenty of trouble along the way. But wherever the journey takes them, Ilvie always wants to know one thing:
What’s around the next corner?
Ilvie leaves her familiar world behind to discover what lies beyond it — courageous, independent and free.
Pirates instead of princesses. In Ilvie’s world, there is no “boys’ stuff” or “girls’ stuff” — everyone can be whoever they want to be.
New places, new people, new ideas. Ilvie wants to know what the world outside looks like — and she isn’t afraid to go and find out.
Ilvie’s crew is wonderfully different. Everyone belongs, everyone contributes — without labels or explanations.
Ilvie’s stories invite children to imagine more, try new things and discover what they might be capable of.
Adventures are better together. Ilvie and her friends bring different strengths, personalities and perspectives to every journey.
This is the very best book in the whole world!
We’re especially big fans of Theo!
I wish I could twinkle with my pets!
